About CETLs

74 Centres for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETLs) were set up by HEFCE in January 2005, with a further seven centres established in Northern Ireland. The CETLs initiative aimed to embed excellence in teaching throughout the sector – see the Higher Education Academy’s CETLs pages for more information and a full list of the centres.

CILASS

CILASS, the Centre for Inquiry-based Learning in the Arts and Social Sciences, supports innovation in inquiry-based learning (IBL) across a range of disciplines including law. An article about the law school’s participation in CILASS appeared in the Spring 2006 issue of Directions., and several case studies of law school involvement have been published:
